Reporting to the CEO, the Delivery Manager will oversee and manage software projects from start to completion. Working closely with the engineering team, the Delivery manager will:

  • Fully responsible and accountable for the monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets expected from their team — the wins and losses.
  • Identify and engage potential clients in order to gather project requirements
  • Review the work scope and align with the lead engineer to generate precise project scope, cost and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the lead engineer to create viable project plans — including creating Trello cards and assigning tasks to the team.
  • Ensure efficiency of their engineering team — including task delivery, monitor project risks e.g. scope creep, blockers, delays etc. And create solutions for timely project delivery and handle team concerns to keep a project on track.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, timelines and change requests. This tracking is done per team member (individual level) and whole team (team level). This can be done using Trello, Sheets and/or Slack.
  • Execute timely testing of the engineer’s work to ensure that the client requirements are met with acceptable quality. This is key for repeat business!
  • Manage the communication between their team, company management and the clients. This will involve running ad-hoc, daily, weekly, monthly and annual meetings for strategic purposes to ensure alignment.
  • Prepare, maintain and submit daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports about projects and their team. These will be submitted to the CEO.
  • Work with management to ensure that their team is profitable and healthy — including recruitment process, leave management, payouts etc.
  • Any other duties assigned to you

Role requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination in the areas of Software programming.

A minimum of 3 years experience as a software engineer.

Proven experience in leading or managing software projects.

A good leader who can make decisions and motivate a team.

A good communicator who is fluent in English — spoken and written.

Result oriented.

Understands the business of software projects.

Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking as well organized.

Strong ability to work independently. You must be proactive.

Knowledge of PHP/WordPress and Javascript is an added advantage.
